Service Description

Travel back thousands of year to experience prehistoric life and enjoy these varied activities: - Learn about the art of cave paintings, who made them and why - Make your own natural 'earth paint' and learn how to use it - Learn how to paint your own pebble 'rock art' or 'wood art' decoration to take home - Create a contemporary cave painting, in our hidden cave tunnel using ancient art techniques. Complete the experience by cooking delicious marshmallows over a real prehistoric camp fire! Activity duration: 3 hours. Materials: All equipment and consumables are supplied. Information for families: These family workshops are aimed at children from 6 to 13 years old but are suitable for children of all ages. Adults are encouraged to take part too. Hot and cold drinks, ice cream and snacks are available to purchase in our Park in the Past café. Please note: It is advisable to wrap up warm and bring wellies as this activity is outside and the cave is often wet. We will also be cooking around a small fire and be making paint using earth, raw egg and charcoal - it gets messy! Children must be supervised. We cannot accommodate unaccompanied children, Sorry no dogs except assistance dogs. If anyone has any disabilities, please let us know in advance so we can do our best to accommodate you.
